Maine takes you back Basics on a Golf Trip. Great Golf , Great Food, Great people and just the right pace. The State of Maine has always had a way to bring us all back to basics. Home to some great tracks by Ross, Cornish, Silva, Hill has more to offer and a uniqueness that is only Maine. After 9 holes on the turn a seafood salad roll beat the hell out of the traditional hot dog. And lets face it there just isn't any better finish to the day than great cocktails a huge bowl of mussels sailor style, steamed clams and a lobster by the shore. It a just does not get any better than this. Sable Oaks, Nonesuch River,Prouts Neck,The Ledges, Cape Neddick, and Wentworth by The Sea. A short ride from Boston takes you to one of New England's great old port cities Portland , Maine. Portland is a fantastic destination with a bustling waterfront and a cornucopia of music night life and waterfront festivities. From Portland venture south to So. Portland,Scarborough, Ogunquit and York. The accommodations range from some of the most unique and charming inns to full service hotels and yes for all you silver & gold awarders , there a great Marriott properties and Sable Oaks in South Portland and Wentworth by The Sea are two of the best.
A weekend of golf great food , wonderful people and great relaxing venues. Its Maine, New England Summer Golf at it's best, enjoy!! Don't forget the ice cream. Which bring up a great point. Why are there more ice cream shops in maine which has such a short summer season than many places around the country that have great weather year round? They just know how to celebrate life and summer a little better in Maine! Go east young man, Down East!!
